Our Services

The goal of acupuncture is to promote the healing power within your body to restore balance and energy.  We want you to feel your best as soon as possible.  Our goal is to provide all methods available to bring relief and healing in the least amount of treatments.

  • Electro-acupuncture combines the principles of traditional acupuncture with gentle electrical stimulation. Fine needles are inserted into specific points on the body, and a small electrical current is passed through them to enhance the therapeutic effects. This treatment is especially effective for conditions such as chronic pain, muscle spasms, and nerve-related issues. Electro-acupuncture stimulates the body’s natural healing response, promoting faster recovery and reducing inflammation.

  • Cupping is an ancient therapy in which special cups are placed on the skin to create a vacuum, drawing the skin and underlying tissues into the cups. This process helps to increase circulation, relieve muscle tension, and promote detoxification. Cupping is often used in combination with acupuncture to treat conditions such as muscle pain, stiffness, and inflammation. It can also be used for respiratory issues, like asthma or colds, by helping to clear congestion and improve breathing.

  • Manual acupuncture is the traditional form of acupuncture, where thin, sterile needles are inserted into specific points on the body. This technique has been practiced for thousands of years to balance the body’s energy flow (Qi) and restore harmony to the body’s systems. Manual acupuncture is used to treat a wide variety of conditions, including pain, digestive issues, stress, insomnia, and more. It promotes relaxation, supports immune function, and encourages the body’s natural healing process.

  • Red light therapy uses low-level red wavelengths of light to penetrate deep into the skin, stimulating cellular regeneration and healing. This therapy is known for its ability to reduce inflammation, accelerate tissue repair, and improve skin health. Red light therapy is commonly used to enhance the effects of acupuncture, promoting relaxation, reducing pain, and improving circulation. It can be particularly helpful for conditions such as arthritis, skin injuries, and chronic pain.

  • Ear acupuncture, also known as auricular acupuncture, targets specific points on the ear that correspond to different parts of the body. Using small needles or tiny beads applied to the ear, this technique can be used to treat a variety of issues such as pain, stress, anxiety, sleep disorders, and even addiction recovery. The beads or small needles can be worn for several days, offering continuous therapeutic benefits without the need for full-body acupuncture sessions.

  • Kinesio taping uses elastic therapeutic tape to support muscles and joints without restricting movement, improving circulation and reducing pressure on underlying tissues. In addition to traditional kinesio taping, we offer K-Patch Therapy, a specialized form of kinesiology tape designed for targeted pain relief. K-Patch provides continuous, localized therapy by delivering sustained pressure and support to specific areas, helping to reduce inflammation, improve muscle function, and accelerate the healing of injuries. Both therapies are effective for conditions like muscle strains, joint instability, post-surgical recovery, sports injuries, and chronic pain, and can be used in conjunction with acupuncture for enhanced results.

Understanding our services

  • Evaluations are office visits where your condition is evaluated and your treatment plan is managed.  Insurance companies do not typically limit office visits.

The first appointment at Essential Acupuncture will be an evaluation. Treatment will begin at the next visit, with few exceptions.  At the evaluation, the practitioner will review your initial paperwork and you will discuss with the practitioner your symptoms and concerns.  The practitioner may ask you questions for clarification.  Unless contraindicated for medical reasons, we will perform an Acugraph, which is a non-invasive tool which will show what is happening in your body systems.  The Acugraph will generate a report which will be emailed to you.  The practitioner will explain how acupuncture may help your condition, determine and document a course of treatment based on medical necessity.  They will also let you know how often you should receive treatments, the length of expected recovery and anticipated outcome.

There will be six acupuncture treatments between each evaluation.  We require evaluations every seventh visit to make sure that we are treating what is medically necessary at each sequence of visits, updating diagnoses as needed, and updating the treatment plan documentation.

  • Evaluation CPT Codes:
